Marigny Opera House is a beautiful wedding venue on Ferdinand Street in New Orleans. The Opera House is a former church designed by French architect Theodore Giraud in 1847. If you love old textures of wood and stone and an interior with a vintage church meets opera house vibe, you might like to have a Marigny Opera House wedding. This is one of my favorite wedding venues in New Orleans!
At the opera house, couples typically have their ceremony inside framed by beautiful historic archways. The courtyard is perfect for cocktail hour. Receptions can be held either indoors or in the courtyard. These areas are also perfect for your portraits, along with the front steps of the building.
I recently photographed a Marigny Opera House wedding editorial designed by Janna Brown. The design featured a palette of slate blue, cream, and gold, and contrasting textures. The delicate lace Monique Lhuillier gown looked amazing against the weathered stone, marble, and wood of the Opera House. The table design was kept classic and tone on tone, with cream and gold plate-ware and abundant florals. Clear ghost chairs ensured that the design could shine against the backdrop of the Opera House. Gorgeous paper goods with an old world European feel added touches of blue. Our models posed both inside and outside the Opera House, to capture all the textures and light that the venue offers. A white vintage Bentley was the perfect getaway car!
